Bon Voyage

I'm getting ready to set off for what I hope to be a fabulous holiday. Only a week, but lots to see and do in that time.

DH and I set off tonight on the Caledonia Sleeper train for London. The primary reason for heading there is the I-Knit day on Saturday. Lots of workshops, presentation and, of course, yummy yarns and yarn makers. In other words, a day of sheer bliss and excitement all wrapped into one.

Actually, the I-Knit day is the primary reason *I* want to go there. DH has other motivators. Give him a city with lots of :

1)Museums and

2)Pubs

and he could content for at least a week!

On Sunday we'll be off to Paris for a few days via Eurostar. Absolutely can't wait! We've never visited either city before. Lilith told me about a fabulous yarn shop called La droguerie where she did some shopping on a trip to Paris. I feel like a kid at Christmas with the anticipation of doing a little shopping there myself!

Before I go, though, I'll share a couple photos of a new project. I'm working on the Twilley's Tank Top pattern (aka a sweater vest). I'm using Lang Mille Colori, which is being recycled from a previous project gone horribly wrong. At first, I thought the yarn was a bit too damaged/fuzzy from the frogging, but knitted up it actually looks quite nice:

The striping of the ribbing ended up being far too precise for me, so once I got to the body, I switched to knitting off of two balls and alternating every couple/few rows for a more random look. So far, so good.

Ok, off to go over my check-lists for packing one last time...

See you at iKnit. I travelled from London to Edinburgh on the sleeper a few years ago, and loved it. It was like something out of a book :o) My other half was so claustrophic that he insisted on the blinds being open at all times! Ooops.

Have a great time on your trip to London and Paris. Don't forget a shop called Le bon marche on the rue du Bac/ postal address in rue de Sevres. Sevres-Babylone Metro stop is very close by.
Enjoy I-Knit! x K
